Very good. I like the clouds particularly. I would, perhaps (not that I have any skill in this area whatsoever (maybe you shouldn't listen to me)) blur the top right edge of the planet; I don't know... aren't the edges usually obscured by atmosphere?

Hello... wonderful work...
Being a bit of a Photoshop newbie, I'm wondering how you do something like this from scratch. I just got a copy of 5.0 recently, and so I'm trying to figure out what its capabilities are.

Hi,, Thank you for your comment on my pic!!!! It is deeply appreciated!
As for doing this in Photoshop. well I am a total newbie to it too. I used some of the tutorials found here in DA in the Resources section, to help me with the making the planet.... as for the clouds I found some Hi Res photos of clouds, cropped them out, tweaked them in PS to remove the graininess from the jpg format compression and then used some cloning techniques... I wish I could make clouds from scratch but I am still trying to figure out brushes and stuff.. Stumbling in the dark so to speak...lol

Not bad for a first. Though to be honest, even though the clouds look extremly nice, I dont think they fit very well in that picture. Overall well done.

Thanks!!!! well consodering that you are the one that led the way for me to be able to make it, then I am sure you can make them as good as I... I know you can,, I have seen your planets and they are great...
I found some really big pics of stones, grass, rusty and painted surfaces and they work great for making a texture map for the planets.... lol.. things you wouldnt think would work, work great...lol

Thanks!!!!! And those big puffy clouds are NOT part pf the atmosphere of the planet,, it can be more of a fantasy scene or taken as a small Nebulous gas cloud......lololol

LOL Thanks!!! PS is not that bad,, it is learning how the things work in it,, I am so use to Picture Publisher10 and how easy it is to use, that changing over to PS is harder,, plus I am still trying to learn how the freaking brushes work and to get them to do what i want... PP10 is so much easier, but doesnt have transparent layer capability,,...

the brushes in gimp have aspect rayio and relief sliders. Ireally cant help much there since this mad scientist has yet to implement brushes.
