Daniel's Hope by Ali Ries 2015

I did 2 version of this image, one lighter in color and the other darker. Both were liked by everyone I asked so I decided to keep them both, but with different names.

This is for Daniel, for those that do not know his story here it is:
RIP Daniel Fleetwood
10th November 2015

The Star Wars fan community really rallied together last week to help Daniel Fleetwood a massive Star Wars devotee since a little boy see the upcoming “The Force Awakens” before his death.

Daniel had a rare connective tissue cancer, spindle cell sarcoma and in July, his doctors gave him only two months to live. With the film not due out until December 18th the #ForceForDaniel campaign began.

Daniel’s wife Ashley took to Facebook to reveal the heartbreaking news that Daniel had passed away at the age of 32:

    Daniel put up an amazing fight to the very end. He is now one with God and with the force. He passed in his sleep and in peace. He will always be my idol and my hero. Please hug uncle Marc for me and give Lucy lots of kisses. Rest in peace my love. This was the last selfie we ever took together.?#?forcefordaniel?

Episode VII Director J.J. Abrams made personal contact with Daniel and Lucasfilm managed to grant the superfan his dying wish to see a version of the finished film.  Ashley wrote just last Thursday:

    “Today the wonderful Disney and Lucasfilms made his final dream come true, in the amazing typical Disney way, they really do make dreams come true! Lastly I want to thank ALL the amazing people who helped make this happen, thank you beyond words!!! May the force be with you all”

The internet through social media really got together to help Daniel and to urge Disney to grant him his final wish of seeing the next chapter in the space opera saga.

“Star Wars” actors Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and John Boyega  all retweeted it with the hashtag #ForceForDaniel. Daisy Ridley also helped spread the message on her Instagram account.

Our thoughts are with Daniel’s wife Ashley and all his friends and family.
